Mr Tiew Han studied medicine at the University of Adelaide and graduated in 1991.  He undertook training in neurosurgery at Flinders Medical Centre, The Adelaide Children’s Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

In 1995 Tiew moved to Melbourne and continued training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre and was awarded FRACS in 2000.  
Tiew worked as a senior Neurosurgical Registrar at St Vincent’s Hospital in 2000 before undertaking further post graduate training at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.  He worked under the supervision of Professor Ian Whittle, a world-renowned brain tumour specialist.  He also gained vast experience in spinal surgery working with Patrick Statham and Tom Russell.

Tiew returned to Melbourne and established his private practice in Fitzroy.  He is also committed to medical services for country Victoria and provides regular neurosurgical visits to Warrnambool and Warragul.

Tiew is actively involved in training of junior surgical residents and registrars; he is also the supervisor of training for spinal surgery in the post fellowship education and training (PFET) program.
