Tom is an Australian trained neurosurgeon who provides a comprehensive neurological service to his patients.  His approach to patient care involves an individualised assessment of a patient’s problem, recognising that surgery is not always the most appropriate first choice.  Tom has a considered style, and works collaboratively with other experts in his field to ensure that his patients are always getting the absolute best care available.

Tom is comfortable treating all aspects of spine disease (apart from paediatric scoliosis), including pathology at the craniocervical junction, anterior and posterior cervical spine, complex thoracic problems, and performs all variants of lumbar spine approaches (ALIF, OLIF, XLIF, T/PLIF) as necessary.  He offers cervical and lumbar disk replacement to select patients with the appropriate indications and employs minimally invasive techniques when required.

Tom also works closely with several Chronic Pain Specialists and provides surgical services in conjunction with their care, in the form of implantable neuromodulation devices.

Subspecialty interests include:
•    Brain surgery
•    Spine surgery
•    Peripheral nerve conditions
